Mercedes Benz Concours de Elegance

Over 100 Mercedes Benz cars made a stunning display on the front lawn of Ormiston House today. This was the fifth successive year the Mercedes Benz Club had held this event at the House and the largest number of cars ever to attend this special annual event. The cars ranged in age from 1935 to the current model and 14 judges assessed the 50 cars that entered the various classes.

Well over 500 visitors came along to see the display of cars and to enjoy Devonshire Teas on the verandah or picnic in the grounds. The calm and sunny conditions added to the enjoyment of the day and luckily the expected rain did not spoil the show!

Ladies attending the event (and a good number of gentlemen!) were treated to a superb parade of ladies’ fashion by Lisa Z Fashions of Chevron Island on the Gold Coast.  There was also a fascinating display by the Wedgwood Society of traditional Wedgwood items as well as Wedgwood glass.
