A wonderful night beneath the stars

Not even a chilly breeze could spoil the magical night enjoyed by hundreds of guests for our annual ‘Music Beneath the Stars’ in October 2011. The first-class line up of Rosario La Spina, Sarah Crane, Andrew Collis, Luke Kennedy and Naomi Price entertained with a great selection of popular opera and timeless musical theatre numbers. They were ably supported by young local musicians Elizabeth Hubbard on cello and Adam McMillan on piano.

A highlight of the evening was the performance by the Musical Theatre students. The group of enthusiastic young artists are the first to study the Bachelor of Music (Musical Theatre) at Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University.

Led by former Founder and Director of the Musical Theatre program at London’s Mountview Academy Paul Sabey, the highly talented young performers held the audience spellbound. The 22 students performed wearing the new shirts provided by Ormiston House, which is delighted to support their studies. We expect to see much more of these youngsters —and we hope they will return to perform at our special events in the future.

The Lone Piper playing the original piece ‘Ormiston House’ finished off a truly memorable night.
