Ormiston House Lecture Series

Join Ormiston House Historian Jessica Stroja as she discovers and rediscovers the memories and history of our area and its wider connections with Australian history.

Enjoy a Devonshire Tea on the verandah of Ormiston House, followed by an interesting presentation against the backdrop of the beautiful grounds and bay. We will be uncovering the history of Ormiston and the Redlands, exploring our place within Australia and the world through connections with people and industry,

Guests are welcome to view the beautiful gardens and inspect the Historic House after the presentation. Guides will be available to answer questions about the Historic House and guests can meet the speakers after the event.

Sunday 23 April: Come and hear Jessica discuss ‘Ormiston and the Second World War’

Hear Jessica reveal the experiences and voices of residents from wartime Ormiston and discover how community spirit thrived in our suburb during the conflict. Learn where Ormiston sits within the broader Australian narrative of the Second World War. Enjoy a Devonshire Tea on the verandah, meet the speaker, and view the House and grounds during your visit. Don’t forget to view our inaugural photographic exhibition while you are visiting!

Sunday 28 May: Come and hear Jessica discuss ‘Ormiston House, its Residents, and their History’.

Tickets: $10 (includes Devonshire Tea)

Time: all lectures (including Devonshire Tea and viewing of the House and Gardens) 10.30 am – 12.00 pm. Guests are welcome to remain on the grounds until 4 pm.
