Join Ormiston House Historian Jessica Stroja as she discovers and rediscovers the memories and history of our area and its wider connections with Australian history. This year, Jessica will be discussing the birth of Australia’s commercial sugar industry – which started at Ormiston! This property is certainly both beautiful and significant!
No need to worry if you missed last year’s sugar lecture by Dr Robbie Mason, as Jessica’s lecture will be discussing a different aspect of the sugar industry at Ormiston. You can even accompany Jessica to see an original sugar pan that was used on the property when the commercial sugar industry was established!
Guests are welcome to view the beautiful gardens and view the Historic House after the presentation. Guides will be available to answer questions about the Historic House and guests can meet the speaker after the event.
