The grounds are open every Sunday from 12.00 – 4.00 for visitors. Guests can enjoy a complimentary viewing of the House, and volunteer guides are throughout the House to answer any questions.
Maps are available to help you find your way around the House, and there are information panels in each room with interesting facts about the house and its contents.
A visual presentation on the history of the house and grounds runs continually in the conservatory of the house. Guests are welcome to sit and view this presentation during their visit.
The Ormiston House grounds are opened on weekdays by appointment for group bookings only. Groups can make an appointment to take a complimentary guided tour of the house and/or enjoy a Devonshire Tea on the verandah. Schools, coach parties, retired groups, respite centres, special interest groups or organisations are all welcome. Normal prices apply.
On a normal Sunday afternoon there is plenty of car parking available in the grounds of Ormiston House, accessed through the main gate. Please note that on special event days, parking on the roadside may be necessary.
Disability parking is available – just ask our friendly volunteers on the gate for directions when you arrive.
Ormiston House and grounds are accessible by wheelchairs and walkers. Ramps are available at the front door of the house. Please advise at time of booking if ramps are required.
Visitors are welcome to bring along their own picnics and blankets on Sunday afternoons and enjoy the beautiful grounds of the House with views out to Moreton Bay.
