Please Note: Christmas and New Year closures.
Historic Ormiston House will be closed from Monday 12 December 2016 to Saturday 28 January 2017 inclusive.
Please Note: Ormiston House is closed on Easter Sunday.
Cars: On a normal Sunday afternoon there is plenty of car parking available in the grounds of Ormiston House, accessed through the main gate. Please note that on special event days, parking on the roadside may be necessary.
Coaches: Access is through the gate to the Monastery to the left of Ormiston House. Coach parking is at the end of that access road, past the monastery gate.
Ormiston House and grounds are accessible by wheelchairs and walkers. Ramps are available at the front door of the house.
Visitors are welcome to bring along their own picnics on Sunday afternoons and enjoy the beautiful grounds of the House with views out to Moreton Bay.
Groups can make an appointment on any weekday for a tour of the house, with or without a Devonshire Tea on the verandah. Schools, coach parties, retired groups, respite centres, special interest groups or organisations are all welcome. Normal prices apply.
Weekday Special Events
Garden Tour and Devonshire Tea with Jerry Coleby-Williams.
Lecture Series and Devonshire Tea with Ormiston House Historian Jessica Stroja and Dr Robert Mason, Griffith University.
The house and grounds are open every Sunday from 12.00 – 4.00 for visitors. The House is open for inspection, and visitors are free to wander through the rooms at their leisure. There are information boards in each room with interesting facts about the house and its contents, and there are volunteer Guides throughout the house to answer questions and provide additional information. A visual presentation on the history of the house and grounds runs continually in the conservatory of the house.
