Hundreds of visitors turned out to enjoy great entertainment in perfect weather on Sunday 15th May at Ormiston House to herald the start of Heritage Week. Mayor Melva Hobson offically opened the porgramme, which included performances by soprano Kathleen Proctor-Moore, the Tara Singers, Scottish and Irish Dancers, Murrumba Scotch Terrier Mascots, Ormiston Heritage Pipes and Drums, Redland Sporting Club Pipe Band, and the Qld Irish Assn Pipe Band. Ladies in period costume and the Qld Scots Volunteer Corps in full regalia added to the wonderful atmosphere. There were displays by the Aust. Scottish Assn, Redland Geneological society, Johnston Clan, Bayside Vehicle Restorers vintage Cars, Runemaster Celtic Jewellery and a fascinating lacemaking exhibition. Over 500 visitors enjoyed Devonshire Teas on the verandah and in marquees on the lawn with a sparkling backdrop of Moreton Bay.
